Can flow be dysfunctional? and how to improve it?(according to the article From Dys/Function to Flow from Rebecca J. Lloyd)

Image
The existential state of flow is experienced through merging of bodily action and awareness within the timeless nature of the present moment.   Joyful movement, effortless exertion, fluidity, expansion, connectedness to the cosmos.... such moments emerge when one's action merges with one's awareness influenced by information theory and notions od mental order.  There is no such a place or wish one would rather to go or do as the consuming the moment of now, the moment of presentness. Depending of what we are doing; sitting with the lover on the bench in the park, cooking pasta for dinner, reading a book, practicing yoga..... such moments carry the essence of flow, if we want to draw a flow theorist Csikszentmihalyi.  The existential state of flow is an out of reach for the raw beginner. People should do doing activities for the sake of doing activity. Something similar Kant had in mind in his Critique of Practical Reason, where he argued tha...

Triangle of sadness: passage into a new life( The research was done during my creative residency in Georgia 'Dancing Together, Again' in may-june 2023)

Image
Triangle of Sadness - Passage into a new life (or how performative art can be the important wheel in transforming the world, at least someone’s inner world)     ….always two kind of lives co-exist… One is spectacular, hidden in our heads, made for enjoyment and everything seems perfect. A Plato’s cave - hidden, contrasting reality, irresistible, articulated in our minds. The other, our real life - unpredictable, furious, sad, rough, dangerous, saint requires re-capitulating position in our lives. Perhaps in life it is always goes this way: a bit of drama, something touches you from inside, something affects from outside, a bit of sparks of neon ignite up through the body and mind and this becomes the history of the moment. Once upon a time during my precious movement/artistic residency in Tbilisi, Georgia I have met queer, drag and transperson. That was a pure gender exploration during those days, and I found all that under one beautiful Caucasi...

SHIFTING traces - series of movement workshop with HELEN KINDRED

Image
Few weeks ago, Helen Kindred and I concluded series of online movement workshop with a wonderful and open minded participants. I would like to thank you ALL  of you who participated again for this magical opportunity. The classes were guided body experience in order to achieve a sense of femininity, softness, security, based on breathing, movement and grounding. This awareness of the kinesphere and of our personal space were restored through experiential different movement qualities that led to feeling time-space-environment expansion and to acquire more close acquaintance with body perceptions and intimacy with one’s body and the others by constantly tracking CHANGE in the body. With the use of kinaesthetic imagination and visualization we were looking for new energy forms and way how to re-connect to the social influences of the moment which can be useful for nurturing our body and safety states. We were exploring our movement capacity through experiential learning to deepen our ...

LAST DAYS OF MY RESIDENCY...

Image
Almost 3 weeks of exploration, listening, observation, contemplation, frustration, joy, sadness, wrath,..- it must be fruitful one day this residency...somewhere... Tried to find balance between falling and lifting up...smooth communication with the gravity...introduce every part of body with the rhythm, coordination, musicality,... But probably everything will reveal in the moment of the performance.. communication vs. manipulation with the audience Elongation of the SOLA/SOMA is a perfect timing for the performance. It was created in her specific form and logic, and it is the best length of the dance-theatre performance. It does not need anything else... Tempo which you use on the stage will affect on acceptance of the show and continuation of the development, of the energy you are providing to the audience. First 7 minutes are the most important and influence on the rest of the performance. Fear of boredom, repetitive movements, fear of "what I am doing right now...
