EMBODIED WORDS

Everything substantial I have ever learned to being I have learned in my body, connected to the movement and the breath. Awakening intelligence of the body through senses so mind can reach out, listen deeply that sensual language motivate me to respond actively through to do this research which is very important to me as a dancer or movement researcher.

Activity in the movement and self-awareness with the breath support arise through perceptions that internally affect external circumstances. Movement itself according to Sondra Horton is somatically affective (Fraleigh 2015, 32), we can relate movement through imagery. To move with a somatic purpose is to move with an aesthetic purpose and aim for transformation through somatic experience, which goes through constant awareness, perceptual realisation into something enormous, such as consciousness which is fundamental to mind and thought relationship, connected to the trust, intuition and our primordial experience. Expanding the awareness of self-expression and self-perception at the persons state of mind we move from the state of paralysis into a state of active engagement. Reality of whole self shaped in (by) the experience and consciousness bring us to the body of action with purposeful task connected to the breath, curiosity, surprise and perceiving knowledge (experience) and the movement as fundamental and hidden in our EMBODIMENT.

It is interesting how Duncan and Graham engaged Nietzsche in their work and “critically advance Nietzsche’s project of revaluing all values” ( Lamothe, L., 2006, 7-11), especially founded in Cartesian dualism of body and mind and Christian beliefs and attitudes toward embodiment as part of western culture. For Nietzsche’s dancers, he was an inspiration for “strong, free, joyful action” (Ibid, 8) and dance “ as capable of revaluing the hostility toward bodies, female bodies in particular” (Ibid, 8). To find your femininity is like you find your embodiment. When dancers/movers find it they are deep inside of what they are doing, and they are aware of it, they know it. “Embodied knowing is ability to interact with a thought or an experience holistically that involves power network of the total person (TM., Vol 22, 2001., p.6).

The words are really intoxicated, and I feel I begin a course of action on a fuller exploration of somatic and movement practices and be as an integrated whole. Actively committed through writing, experimenting, reflecting, dancing and observing words for the time being became and anchor on a journey of embodied mind. Writing expressively and thinking reflectively helped me to discover knowledge already waiting for me.
(These are thoughts from my latest short essay "Meaning Making in Action" I wrote for my MAPP SS/ Module 2 about embodied words)
