MIND-BLOWING STAGE SCULPTURES// MY BODY AS A STAGE SCULPTURE

After amazing Es Devlin's talk about mind-blowing stage sculptors, I really took some time to think about what we ALL kind of artists are doing for the better world. Es reminds us of great work beginning with ideas. As she said the beginning is really important, it is delicate part, it feels every atom of air, before the show (everything) starts. I am delighted how she is explaining her call and what is really being sculpted is the EXPERIENCE of the audience, and after the show that thing is only important. When everything is gone, when show is finished and everybody goes to their home, the show, work of the artists endures in their memories, in sculptures, in performances, pieces.. We are alive as artists because of that...in the mind of those who were once present in the audience. The audience anticipation is matter!! and that is the beauty of every artist's work, I should say mine too. Transferring oneself from the stage out to the audience and hearing somewhere in the angle collective voice of the beautiful mass remind me on the experience I used to live, and that is how all we are connected, how we can communicate on this stage with collective voice and what is equally fascinating as stage is AUDIENCE. I dedicated my 4 AOL to that subject and vulnerability of performer on the stage and what is the actual meaning of being on the stage, what kind of responsibilities the artist have for the audience and audience to the artists.
ONly connecT!.... and live in fragments no longer.
Sandra, this is a beautiful reflection. Yes, we are vulnerable as artists, performers, makers and the beauty and fragility of that vulnerability allows communication between audience and artist - the art is an invitation perhaps for wider and deeper conversations to happen?
ReplyDeleteThank you for always encouraging words...yes, the ART is a platform for changing the world, it could be... but this I think in majority always sounds like something trivial and banal. If we change word instead of making WAR (read backwards)into something RAW and start from scratches, maybe something positive would happen even in those places who does not know how to look and design differently the first above mentioned word. Yes, i believe in art and art is a place for definitely deeper conversation and act, but like I said...there are some people in this world who use art in different purposes and unfortunately we can not do much, but we can not stop trying doing our best:)
