NEXT phase of my ongoing research. How to simultaneously work on sound, breath and the movement?/Phase 5
It looks how Fridays are reserved for the face to face session and that is great opportunity to enter deeper into the process, into practitioner's practice and mine too. This research I dedicated to the sense, silence exploration, sound in the body and dynamic motionless. So, how is possible work on sound and flow if we remain in silence and stillness?
I was using concept of Continuum practice, a demonstration of sending sound into the body parts using vocals A+O+M+Žlj in sitting and lying position and I+U+Br in standing position blending with chi quong principles of the movement and working on personal energy. I was using deliberately those vocals and consonants to show how we can play with the sound with or without a tongue. That is something I should really deepen in my further practices. It was very enjoying to play with that body part and producing the song with the whole body as an instrument. Me and my valuable somatic researcher were trying to introduce, evoke, awake all senses in the body while we were singing, producing gremlin sounds and moving. In the beginning it was a bit hard to tune in (we start observing breathing, sitting, articulated the head region, neck and the spine, giving massage to the face, head and the neck, slightly slapping the face, doing lion exhalation, totally relaxing and evoking our first sound in the body) but after 15 minutes we were starting exploring what is happening in our body, with our throat, confidence, energy, safety, sensibility, connectivity with inner voice, boundaries and healthy aggression and try to achieve resilient movement. That was maybe the most intimate class of all classes, very powerful and balanced between feminine and masculine energy, sustained time and (un)equal breath. We were trying to increase a flow of all information in the body and possibilities with intention and open attention, allowing body to start from micro-movements to spread into something else such as spiraling, pulsing, shaking, hypnotic humming, nourishing the system with the sound where the sound might create more inner space in the body and resonance in tissues, evoking parasympathetic nervous system, and layers of toxins would had going away from the body...
Here I was also using the Laban's time factor related to WHEN of movement/intuition/body vibration and decision upon carrying it out. Changes in the quality of time in movement becoming either sustained or quick, variation of two different movement, faster-slower, but somehow we stayed in a sluggish and slow (e)motion. And that was ok:) We were playing as we were. A sound is one of universal sound who penetrate throughout the body, O sound makes vertical spreading, making kind of circles in the body, feel more like resonant, sound like a tube in the throat, M sound looks like drainage of the head region whilst sound Žlj is definitely going to your bones, you can fill that nice drill sound on the edge of your body, I is spreading from neck region to the shoulder blades, U is making throat and voice more confident, whilst Br plus shaking, like in Brahmari Pranayama helps in better neural transmission and enhancement of memory. The class was in the end a bit exhausting, we were pushing our voice to the limit, but the outcome was amazing. Our parasympathetic nervous system was more than open, our brain cells were stimulated, awareness very open and in the end we were happy and we were enjoying in new phase, new practice.
