RUN!

In Oxford dictionary I found so many interesting and joyful meaning on the verb RUN - and the interesting is that each of that images are some kind metaphor of life;) such as: run from something; to someone; away; free time; plant; control; exist; being in certain place; flow; happens; move smoothly;  get hole; continue to be shown, etc...

I am a runner, I am running whole my life and a lot of things in my life, I love running, and I love life (however trivial that means). So, this morning I was running. I was running in beautiful Tivoli park situated in the center of Ljubljana. Beautiful sky, happy people, green grass, no bad thoughts, wonderful sculptures, drinking wild and fresh almost mountain air, living the sunshine...well this is the moment, this is I guess the life. And because of these wonderful small things in life, I love easy living...who does not?:)

today I was running from my studio...It is always like that..when the performance is near, I can not rehears, work with the material, use the language, I just want to disappear  ... far away...

... but also.. when I want to run, I am dealing also with my will-power issue...so I guess I was longing for that today...my stamina..

no stress for me, please. not today. or ever.

let's talk about something serious:), philosophy of life and movement...

Schopenhauer in "The world as Will and Idea" argues that the knowledge gained by the irrational body takes precedence over the knowledge gained by the rational mind. "Every true act of his will is also at once and without exception, a time movement of his body. The action of the body is nothing by the act of the will objectified; passed into perception". He is disavows the separation of mind and body and will, pointing instead towards a view that sees mind and body as different conduits for the same noumenon ( OR A THING AS IT IS IN ITSELF).

So, there is no separation of body and mind, everything goes beyond Carthesian thinking of dualism and while we dancing, interact, or move we are connected and in harmony with our thinking, with our mind. Sondra Fraleing said: "our body thinks, and it thinks as it moves". There can not be the other way. Move as you think, think as you move. ... and through some time you will know all necessary about that person. The way she move, walk, breathe, look, is the way she live, communicate and react. There is so much in that particular movement than we think about, the whole individual execution of such codes. Choreography resonate with cultural values concerning bodily, individual and social identity, whereas performance focuses on the skill necessary to represent those identity.

"Focus on dance enables a more through understanding of the cultural constructiveness of body and identity and a more far-reaching set of strategies for effecting social change." (from CHOREOGRAPHIES OF GENDER, pp. 6)

ergo... run your will-power, run your thinking, run your movement, run your simplicity,  run your way of expressiveness...

be a runner...
