Last open discussion about COMMUNICATING IDEAS...

Image
Last night we had a very optimistic and friendly discussion on how to communicate ideas clearly, concretely, completely, correctly, courteously, coherently,.. I felt very open and vigorous to share my final thoughts and reflection on learning and connecting across the 3 modules of MAPP. That was also my last online discussion in this term and for this Master, and I felt somehow emotional. I am feeling content and very privileged that I could be part of this learning process and how much I learnt during past year and found myself in it, my identity. I am feeling proud of myself and my willingness to learn something new and get out from the comfort zone, which is always the hardest part in receiving a new information. I thank to my supervisor Helen for always encouraging words and her precious knowledge about movement philosophy but Angela too for bringing ideas from another angle and artistic point of view.  Like I mentioned last night, there is NO right way, no wrong, no only...

THROUGH ART AND CREATIVITY WE ARE ABLE TO RESPONSE! or what is the relationship between theory and practice?

Image
Last night we had very profound and radiant online session framed by relationship between theory and practice. I must admit that last 10 days I am making connections more than ever between these two things. I have learnt how is reciprocal and inevitably intertwined relationship between theory and practice. After  getting the feedback on my overview and analysis and after last night's session I have recognised that I put an accent, thinking, observation too much on my research project and little about observation on literature, so these days I am working on balance between overview research project, literature and reflective diary and what is going around when I look for validation between these three things. I just did not realize that I went to much into reflection about my research (which was ok for the Module 1) around embodied fluidity. Practice means actual operation or experience, and this empirical approach seeks understanding about what is going on in the research and...

MDX online session Module 3/ FOCUS ON REVIEW, ARTEFACT AND ORAL PRESENTATION

Image
OK...this is how looks start of my week...my mind is blowing, full of ideas, information and I am also stuck with the movement too..yes, I know I need to step back and breathe and come back to the sense...but we know this is not easy (at this moment). It is about less than month for the submission and less than two months for the oral presentation..Some kind of fear is here but I need to find enjoyment in this things too...I will finally share the research of my interest and my personal creative endeavor with the others...and yes I am starting with the new chapter of my life regarding thinking and reflecting on movement. I must say that this Master gave me a great confidence to move on and changed my professional practice and gave new patterns and  perspectives into the movement, opened my eyes, brain..I feel more reborn and reconnect. For the time being I am working on the artefact, and I am trying to collect all valuable videos with my practice and observation from the nature in...

Artist - in conversation...

Last week, Monday and Wednesday we had very delighted artistic conversation with two spectacular women, artists, dancers, choreographers Helen Kindred and Angela Woodhouse. Both of them represented in unique way their art work and I found somehow myself in both versions. Since my Master thesis is talking about EMBODIED FLOW IN MOTION I could very much connect with Helen's way of teaching, dancing, and thinking around the body, music, flow, movement language, surrendering, breathing, not controlling, awareness of gravity, phenomenological approach to the breath, movement, Self and the movement improvisation in relation with Bartenieff's Movement practice, concept and somatic languages, I also found myself with Angela's visual art work too, especially during the pandemic, I simply started to observe things, people, environment, objects, details while I am walking in un-ordinary, different way. I would say in a less kinaesthetic way, because I was always moved by the sounds, ...

FLOW RE-PATTERNING, RE-PROGRAMMING, RE-CONNECTING....PHASE 7 ( last day of practical research)

Image
Last Friday I have finished practical part of my research. 7 phases done! I must say it was challenging in many ways; technical, experimental, bilingual (in the end I used both languages Croatian and English), by exploring different movement and emotional levels and layers,... I had my flows haha... Anyway, I was enjoyed and I will definitely do another phase again but this time with the real people, in one space, where we can observe, talk to each other, touch, sharing vibrations from the body in one place. This phase was for sure exploration of possibilities, we worked more on inner connectivity and outer expressivity, more vivid and louder. We were trying to use all body language, trying to connect active self with micro-movements, use more and more changes in the flow to the level of exhaustion then stop, freeze, make a pause. We were connecting to the spirals and explore focus and no focus, open to all information but still channeled to a one thing. then, matchi...

IS THERE AN EASY IMAGERY FLOW IF THE FLOW IS INTERRUPTED WITH UNESPECTED ACTIONS AND THOUGHTS?/ PHASE 6

Image
What happened when FLOW is interrupted with images such as anger, pain, physical and mental imbalance, fear, tiredness, worry, expectancy, uncertainty, vulnerability, sensitivity, when you are not able to express your feelings in a way you want, when you feel so stuck in one part of the body and you just can not move? Is there still a flow? Is it possible to embodied that emotion? yes, of course, we just need to find a deeper understanding of what is happening in our body, have a deeper reflection and work on our possibilities... Last night we had an interesting research around above mentioned theme and I must admit that was very captivating research, cause it was all about vulnerability and very strong and intimate moment. It should be maybe the most creative phase but like I mentioned in the beginning of the research we are armed with curiosity, ongoing questioning and with non judgemental eyes. We were open to every possibility could happen and appear so I should say this sessi...

NEXT phase of my ongoing research. How to simultaneously work on sound, breath and the movement?/Phase 5

Image
It looks how Fridays are reserved for the face to face session and that is great opportunity to enter deeper into the process, into practitioner's practice and mine too. This research I dedicated to the sense, silence exploration, sound in the body and dynamic motionless. So, how is possible work on sound and flow if we remain in silence and stillness? I was using concept of Continuum practice, a demonstration of sending sound into the body parts using vocals A+O+M+Žlj in sitting and lying position and I+U+Br in standing position blending with chi quong principles of the movement and working on personal energy. I was using deliberately those vocals and consonants to show how we can play with the sound with or without a tongue. That is something I should really deepen in my further practices. It was very enjoying to play with that body part and producing the song with the whole body as an instrument. Me and my valuable somatic researcher were trying to introduce, evoke, awake all s...
